Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies concluded yesterday a training program in the area of social and demographic indicators in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA). Mr. Omar Hakouz, Regional Advisor at ESCWA, discussed the best international practices in this regard and these concepts were applied on actual RAK GDP data. Dr. Akoum revealed that this training program is the first in a series of programs to be offered by RAKCSS with the ESCWA in an effort to build up statistical capacity in the Emirate, revealing that other training programs are in the pipeline in the coming weeks to include population and labor market statistics.
