Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies received officials from the Geology Department at the UAE Ministry of Energy headed by Mr. Atik Al Rumaithi, head of Geology Department at the Ministry and geology expert Mr. Tayseer Jawabra. The meeting was attended by RAKCSS Executive Director Dr. Ibrahim Akoum, Economic Advisor Dr. Taleb Healy, Hayfa Shalank, and Fatma Tenaiji, heads of studies and statistics units, respectively. The meeting explored areas of cooperation between the two sides who agreed to conduct studies about the manufacturing sector, in addition to the quarrying and mining sector. Dr. Akoum welcomed this initiative and the center’s readiness to provide the ministry with the needed data and to join efforts to produce sectoral studies, along with cooperation in the area of geographic information systems (GIS). On his part, Mr. Atik expressed the Ministry’s keenness to work together to enrich information about these sectors at the local and federal level.
