Ras Al Khaimah Centre for Statistics and Studies received yesterday the Excellence in GIS Implementation Award 2017 for the “Best GIS Road Map”. This prestigious award was received by Dr. Ibrahim Akoum, Executive Director of RAKCSS, at a GISWORX Gala dinner in Dubai. Among many other projects, the Centre has developed the Statistical Spatial Framework professionally in line with the best practices and we are keen on utilizing the enterprise GIS to simplify statistical procedures, produce Geo-statistics, improve the operation of censuses and surveys, analyze and disseminate information. In this context, we will strive to strengthen collaboration and integration with partners to enhance a better integration of geospatial and statistical information as a basis for sound and evidence-based decision-making. Having a strong understanding of its business needs and clear strategic objectives, the completion of such projects, allowed the CSS to chart a “road map” to improve data collection, analysis, dissemination and become a pioneer in having the most updated and accurate Geo statistical data. The benefits gained from using RAK CSS Statistical Spatial Framework and E-GIS include the ability to improve Geo-statistics business processes, provide high-quality Geo statistical data and information to decision makers, enhance the accuracy and timeliness of statistical data, support data sharing with strategic partners, and ensuring data Privacy and security.
