RAK CSS Concludes a Training Course in Demographic Statistics

Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies concluded yesterday a training program in the area of social and demographic indicators in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA). During the training sessions, Dr. Ismail Lubad, Regional Advisor at ESCWA, presented an introduction of best international practices in the area of population censuses and the various methodologies used. A hands-on approach was employed where the case of Ras Al Khaimah was examined with actual RAK data. The 3-day training program included discussion of methodological issues in population censuses, establishments’ surveys, and labor market statistics. Dr. Akoum mentioned that this training program is a continuation of a series of programs that have started with the ESCWA early this year.
