RAK Center for Statistics and Studies Signs MoU with AURAK

Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies (RAK CSS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). The MoU was signed by Dr. Ibrahim Akoum, Executive Director of Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies and Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK president. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two entities in the field of statistical analysis and research. It is envisioned that the center will also organize training courses for students and provide them with opportunities to actively participate in field surveys, designing questionnaires, sampling techniques, and data collection. The agreement represents the importance of cooperation and both parties’ commitment to community service. Speaking at the signing ceremony Dr. Akoum noted that Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies will soon hold a meeting with business students at AURAK in order to explain the work carried out by the center and the opportunities available in terms of training and recruitment. On his part, Prof. Al Alkim stressed the significance of the partnership, stating, “For us, this agreement is particularly important, as it creates another training platform for our students, enabling them to apply the knowledge gained at the university to a real-life environment. Thus, they acquire work experience which will be of their advantage when it comes to seeking employment. Furthermore, statistics are playing an increasingly important role in this age where we see technological advancement accelerating at an astonishing rate. We are always seeking ways in which we can collaborate with industry leaders so that we can benefit our students, the university, and the community as a whole.”
