26/07/2017
Ras Al Khaimah Centre for Statistics & Studies (RAK CSS) has partnered with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), which develops the emirate’s tourism infrastructure and initiates its domestic and overseas promotions, to develop detailed analysis of the economic impact of tourism plays on the emirate’s sustainable development. An MoU between the two entities was signed by RAK CSS Executive Director, Dr. Ibrahim Akoum and RAKTDA CEO, Haitham Mattar. The agreement will see the development of various studies and surveys to assist in stakeholder, investor and government engagement to facilitate further economic growth in the UAE’s northern emirate. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Akoum noted that this cooperation is part of the overall aim of the RAK CSS to develop the Emirates’ statistical capacity in all sectors to provide decision makers with accurate and timely data. On his part, Mattar said the partnership will expand our official tourism-related data source and provide a clearer picture of the direct contribution tourism has on Ras Al Khaimah’s gross domestic product.
