The importance of the survey is gained from its comprehensiveness in its coverage of the seven emirates and from the diversity of data that serve the demographic, social and economic aspects.​

The survey aims to determine a basket of goods and services to collect consumer price indexes, the cost of living index, and cost-of-life indexes, which helps assess the level, trends, and structure of families' economic well-being. The survey also aims to support decision-makers to conduct analytical studies on the relationship between income, spending, wage levels, and family consumption spending factors.​

Strategic partnerships

‎The survey is implemented in partnership, cooperation and full coordination between the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre and local statistical centres, so that field work for the Household Income and Expenditure Survey begins in December 2023 and ends in December 2024. The success of the survey depends on the cooperation of families, of which the target number is about 20 thousand families, and the answer Accurately on the questionnaire.​
