RAK CSS Conduct economic surveys for year 2016

Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies launched the economic surveys for the year 2016 and the fourth quarter 2016 in collaboration with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA). The two surveys aim at compiling GDP data for year 2016 as well as the last quarter of the year. These statistics are essential for policy makers, the business community, and credit rating institutions. Dr. Akoum, RAKCSS Executive Director, pointed out that the surveys are based on samples representing all establishments operating in the Emirate, and the surveys outcomes will show the micro and macro developments in RAK, enabling the Center to undertake sectoral studies to help decision makers formulate adequate sectoral policies. He also considered that such surveys also show the patterns of economic change in the emirate and present input for preparing the sustainable development strategies. He called upon all establishments included in the surveys to cooperate with the center’s field researchers and provide them with the required data, assuring that company individual data is confidential and used solely for preparing aggregate data and indicators for RAK’s economy.
