Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies received officials from the Geology Department at the UAE Ministry of Energy headed by Mr. Khaled Al Housni, Head of the Department. The meeting was attended by RAK CSS managers and discussed areas of cooperation between the two entities and data sharing aimed at developing a database on quarrying and mining. Executive Director Dr. Ibrahim Akoum announced this cooperation could help conducting studies to promote the sector and increase its value added and attracting investment. In addition, it was agreed to cooperate in the area of geographic information systems (GIS).
